FORWARD
This website is dedicated to the preservation of rock & roll and
Kenora, Ontario Canada's contribution to the Canadian music scene. Namely,
the musical group "Satan & The D-Men" (NO, it's NOT a
satanic cult) but rather, a 60's rock & roll band who are still
performing after 46 years together. Though we may not have been successful
internationally, we will always know and believe that with a little more
maturity and perseverance, we could have been.
As in our everyday lives, goal setting and communication remain the #1
priority and "no," clocks can't be turned back. However, there
are few groups around who can feel the pride of being able to stand in
front of 400-1200 fans in their hometown each summer and play the same
music that made the band tremendously popular 46 years ago. That alone is
a record in itself. There have been changes other than our ages and our
looks as you remembered us in 1962 and we now perform these songs
much better than we ever have as each of us has kept our hands in the
music business and still perform with our respective bands or individually where we
currently reside.
This year, I believe, marks our 27th. reunion dance since 1982 in and
hopefully, it will continue for many years to come. Along the way, we are
proud to have contributed over $110,000 to local causes such as the Kenora
Thistles Hockey Team, The Kenora Library expansion fund and the Keewatin
Library fundraiser.
We are proud to have been able to help those who needed us. To those who
have supported and continue to support "The Fantastic D-Men,"
we thank you for your dedication, each and every one as we enter our 46th..
year of performing together. See you at the dance on July 5th./2008. God bless rock &
roll!
